Who is Wen Ho Lee
Wen Ho Lee was born in Nantou, the epicenter of the most recent Taiwan
earthquake, in 1939. He graduated from Keelung High School in the northern
part of Taiwan, in 1959. He attended Cheng Kung University in Tainan,
Taiwan, and graduated with Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering
in 1963.
Wen Ho Lee came to the United States in 1965 and began graduate studies
in
Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He received his
Doctorate
degree in 1969. He became U.S. Citizen in 1974. He has two grown-up
children
pursuing in high techology career and advanced degrees in the area
of medicine.
He was employed at a variety of industrial and government research firms
before he moved to New Mexico in 1978. He worked at Los Alamos National
Laboratory in applied mathematics and fluid dynamics from 1978 to 1999.
Wen Ho Lee loved his job because as a world known scientist, he was
invited
to lecture and present papers worldwide in major scientific conferences.
He
visited almost all the major cities in Europe and Asia. He loves fishing
and
cooking. Almost all his friends have been treated by his famous recipe
with his freshly
caught fish and freshly picked vegetables from his backyard. Mozart
is his passion and
Hugo is by far his most favorite author.
He was arrested on December 10, 1999 and is now put in solitary confinement
in a New
Mexico prison 23 hours a day. He is allowed only one hour of visit
a week from his
immediate family in the presence of two FBI agent listening in.
